Abstract:The direct injection fuel system had advantages of precise fuel and gas ratio control,high fuel combustion efficiency,and easy starting in the cold weather,so it was widely used in aero piston engine. The key components and the regulation principles of two typi? cal direct injection fuel regulators were analyzed. These direct injection fuel regulators were adopted by Continental IO-360-ES and Ly? coming IO-360-L2A engine installed in the Cirrus SR20 and Cessna 172R aircraft respectively,which were widely used in general avia? tion. Based on the above study,several engine performance such as the acceleration performance,high altitude mixture adjustment perfor? mance and idle stability for these two types of aero piston engine were analyzed and compared. The results show that IO-360-ES engine fu? el is adjusted for maximum power fuel pressure,idle fuel pressure and the fuel-air mixture ratio successively,and then flows to the throt? tle metering body for fuel pressure adjustment.IO-360-L2A engine fuel flows to the main fuel regulator after manual mixture ratio adjust? ment,idle fuel flow and mixture ratio adjustment. The research results also show that the high altitude mixture adjustment performance and idle stability are excellent for IO-360-ES engine while the acceleration performance is excellent for IO-360-L2A engine.
